It matches our curtains and ties the room together.\r\n\r\nDuring class, it is sufficient light without having to use the few lamps we had relied on to avoid the overhead fluorescent glare. I have had fewer complaints regarding the overhead lights giving students' headaches or eye strain. For me, as I am the one in the same room for the entire day, it had definitely reduced eye strain; my eyes are less \"tired\" at the end of the day.\r\n\r\nIn the future, I might consider changing to a different color to stimulate student interest and provide variety. Laminating student-created materials communicated that their thinking mattered and was worth preserving, which increased pride, care, and effort in their work. Students became more invested in revising and improving their products, knowing their work would be showcased and revisited rather than discarded after grading.\r\n\r\nPoster boards used to display mastery of a topic further reinforced this ownership and confidence. By publicly sharing their learning, students were able to explain concepts, reflect on their understanding, and learn from one another. These displays transformed the classroom into a learning-centered space where student voice and achievement were visible, celebrated, and valued—helping students see themselves as capable learners and contributors.","fullyFundedDate":1753629118706,"projectUrl":"project/science-speaks-where-words-and-wonders/9491207/","projectTitle":"Science Speaks: Where Words and Wonders Collide","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Montoya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9121066_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723655691452","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/tmontoya"},{"teacherId":2975102,"projectId":5070068,"letterContent":"Dry erase crayons have increased student engagement by making participation feel low-risk and interactive.
