These books were not just texts; they became a central part of our classroom experience. My students were deeply engaged, often laughing out loud at the clever wordplay and vibrant illustrations. The books sparked curiosity, encouraged discussion, and helped my students see the fun side of learning new words and concepts. They weren't just reading—they were connecting with the content, making it a memorable and enjoyable experience.\r\n\r\nThese books also became invaluable reference tools throughout the year. We used them in stations, whole-group instruction, and small-group settings, ensuring that every student had a chance to dive into the material in a way that suited their learning style. The books provided endless opportunities for interactive learning. Whether we were exploring vocabulary, working on word patterns, or discussing word meanings, these books became a trusted resource that helped reinforce lessons and made abstract concepts more tangible.\r\n\r\nThe impact was especially evident in small group instruction, where the students could apply what they'd learned in a more personalized setting. They frequently referenced these books during our lessons, showing their understanding and enthusiasm for the material. It was wonderful to see how these books helped strengthen their literacy skills and built their confidence in using words effectively. Thanks to your support, we were able to integrate these resources in meaningful ways, and I look forward to continuing to see their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1728312630490,"projectUrl":"project/roots-suffixes-and-prefixes-books-for/8517182/","projectTitle":"Roots, Suffixes, and Prefixes: Books for Word Nerds!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Webster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6546725"},{"teacherId":8647119,"projectId":7511712,"letterContent":"The new books we received through DonorsChoose have been a wonderful addition to our classroom library and are already supporting several key reading skills. These texts help students practice making inferences, identifying theme, analyzing character development, and exploring author's purpose—skills that are essential for strong, thoughtful readers. Many of the books also introduce diverse characters and real-world situations, allowing students to build empathy and connect personally to what they read. These new titles are sparking deep conversations and encouraging students to think critically about the text and themselves.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is a joyful and purposeful experience. Students read independently during designated reading time, participate in book clubs, and engage in whole-class discussions that promote comprehension and reflection. Several students who previously struggled to find books they enjoyed have now found titles that truly resonate with them. One student, in particular, who rarely finished books, is now reading daily and excitedly sharing summaries with classmates. These new books are not only improving reading skills—they're also helping students fall in love with reading.","fullyFundedDate":1691533891273,"projectUrl":"project/readers-make-good-leaders/7511712/","projectTitle":"Readers Make Good Leaders!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Navarrete","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8647119_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689734299104","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8647119"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9818","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":241,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":9818,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Georgia Kimball Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Georgia Kimball Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/mesquite-independent-school-district/georgia-kimball-elementary-school/9818"}
