Everyone has a mat and two blocks and just enough bolsters for the ones that need it.\r\n\r\nWhat's the impact? As we began the school year, one returning student excitedly shared his martial arts practice. He mentioned that he \"breathes like we breathe during sun salutations.\" WOW!\r\n\r\nYour contributions are allowing me to introduce students to tools to empower them to manage their emotions and take some control of their lives. We use a variety of breathing techniques like Bee Breathing or Whale Breathing to settle into our work time or to build up our energy to tackle our task for the day. Now, I also have Yoga Days in my class. The changes that are happening for my students are leading to positive change for our campus and their lives.\r\n One student made the comment, \"I am going to try this at home before I go to bed!\" Three students said they did not expect yoga to make difference. Instead they reported, that they were surprised to find they are relaxed and ready to work after yoga sessions. The final two students expected to feel better and did feel great about their entire day because we had a session in the afternoon before they went home.\r\n Lastly, I have observed students independently using my favorite breathing techniques to calm down or focus.
