The addition of noise-canceling headphones, sensory tables and tools, math games, and other resources has made a noticeable difference in how my students are able to engage and learn each day. The headphones help students block out overwhelming background noise so they can focus more clearly on their work, while the sensory items provide calming and regulating tools that support emotional and behavioral needs. These tools are not just \"extras\"—they are essential supports that allow my students to access learning at their own pace and in ways that work best for them.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been exploring the sensory table and hands-on math games. These resources give them a chance to learn through movement, touch, and play, which makes lessons more engaging and meaningful. I've already seen students who were once hesitant to participate now eagerly step forward when these activities are included in the day. The math games, in particular, have encouraged teamwork and problem-solving, and my students cheer each other on as they play and learn together.\r\n\r\nOne student who typically struggles to stay on task has especially benefited from the headphones and sensory items. With these tools, they can better regulate their emotions and concentrate on learning, which has given them a new sense of confidence in class. Your support has made an impact far beyond the classroom materials—it has given my students opportunities to feel successful, calm, and motivated to learn. We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity that made this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746785693923,"projectUrl":"project/equipped-to-learn-supporting-unique-lea/9321352/","projectTitle":"Equipped to Learn: Supporting Unique Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rachel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9782933_orig.jpg?crop=3200,3200,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727482128071","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9782933"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24556","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":526,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":69,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":24556,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Marilyn J Miller Language Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Marilyn J Miller Language Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/lake-worth-independent-school-district/marilyn-j-miller-elementary-school/24556"}
