Never have I felt so supported in my educational dreams as I have here in Krum. \r\n\r\nI wish you could know the impact you have had on my 5th grade classroom. It goes far beyond stocking my shelves with pencils, sharpies, dry-erase markers, and all the other basic supplies a new teacher needs. Your bright Expo markers have transformed into colorful birthday wishes, morning reminders, and loving messages carefully traced on to the classroom white board. Your new shelves have become a lost and found cubby (used on the daily) and homes for student materials, allowing me to spend more time teaching and less time passing out workbooks. Your rolling cart has become an on-the-go writing station, allowing students to access materials that fit their individual needs-- whether that be a new, sharp pencil, scratch paper, dictionary, or thesaurus-- and take their writing to the next level. Not to mention the bulletin board border, sharpies, stickers, mailboxes, and marker holder you've so generously donated. \r\n\r\nOf course, I have saved the best for last. The new electric pencil sharpener may seem like a small gift to you, but it has become my students' endeared classroom mascot. They have named it Bobert the Second, and treasure him like a friend. Just yesterday, my student who holds the envied role of \"pencil sharpener\" decided to train their classmates how to use Bobert, stressing the importance of \"not shoving pencils down his throat\" in order to keep him healthy. The cheers and excited chattering of 20 young scholars as they watched this machine in action was truly music to my ears. That's all to say, your gifts are much more than simple possessions. They have unlocked independence, confidence, joy, and countless memories for myself and my fifth graders. They were thrilled to not only receive new tools and supplies, but also to learn that SONIC was involved. Being located right next door to our school, SONIC is something of a legend in the Dodd hallways! The students immediately began shouting out their favorite menu items and the employees they know, and they eagerly asked if they could compliment your menu in their thank-you letters. \r\n\r\nAs each package arrived, their excitement only grew. When the fidgets were delivered, the students raced to the basket to choose one. When the seat cushions arrived, every chair was soon filled with color and comfort. Finally, when the rocking chair made its way to us (after a few slight delays) the students themselves carried it down the hallway to our classroom, beaming with pride. It has since become the most coveted seat in the classroom! \r\n\r\nWhile these gifts do bring fun and joy, they have also provided my students with comfort, focus, and a stronger sense of community. Having the ability to choose tools that meets their individual needs has truly transformed our classroom environment and enhanced their learning experience.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting me.
