It's been amazing to see how much of a difference these items have made in just a short time. My high-energy students are finally finding their rhythm with the yoga ball chair—that little bit of movement is exactly what they needed to stay focused and engaged. Even my 5th-period class feels different; working through those puzzles together has actually turned them into a real team rather than just a group of kids sitting in the same room.\r\n\r\nBeyond the atmosphere of the room, your gifts are making our lessons much sharper. We used the Post-it notes today for a map analysis activity, and it was great to see the students physically mapping out connections to their reading. Personally, I've been diving into Teaching Gifted Multilingual Learners with Depth and Complexity, and it's already changing how I support my gifted emergent bilingual students. Thank you for not just giving us \"supplies,\" but for truly improving how we learn and grow together every day.","fullyFundedDate":1762267472807,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-gifted-multilingual-learners/9559435/","projectTitle":"Empowering Gifted Multilingual Learners Through Engagement and Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McKinney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mckinney-english"},{"teacherId":9717080,"projectId":9292390,"letterContent":"Since receiving the headphones and snacks, my students have been using them almost every day in class. The headphones have made a noticeable difference in how students engage with independent and digital work. They use them during online assignments, review activities, and station rotations, which has helped reduce distractions and improve focus. Students had been asking for headphones like these for months, so being able to finally provide them meant a great deal.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were genuinely excited. They immediately wanted to try the headphones and were eager to use them during class. Several students shared that the headphones were comfortable and helped them concentrate better. The snacks were just as meaningful and supported students during longer class periods by helping them stay focused and energized. Together, these resources created a more positive and supportive classroom environment.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using the headphones as a regular part of our instruction, especially during lessons that require sustained focus and independent work. The snacks will continue to support students throughout the school day. Your generosity has had a real impact on my classroom and helped show my students that their learning and well-being matter. Your support has brought a wave of excitement to our peer mentoring program. These \"high-low\" books—like the National Geographic and Orca series—are exactly what our student mentors needed. Because these books pair cool, mature topics with accessible language, our English-speaking mentors have powerful tools to lead their emergent bilingual peers with confidence, making sure no one feels left out because of a language barrier.\r\n\r\nIt's been incredible to watch our students step into these leadership roles to serve the wider school community. They aren't just practicing language skills; they are building a more inclusive culture where every student belongs. By leading these sessions, our mentors are learning the true value of community service, and our mentees are finding their voices in a new language. With your help this year, we have been able to be ahead of the curve and have our needs met. Although all of the supplies seem random, they have all helped in tremendous ways. \r\nThe Mr. Sketch marker sets have helped the students be involved in making posters and working in groups to create presentations. The Spanish poster packs helped our 2 new teachers be prepared for the classroom & to make their space inviting for students. \r\nThe construction paper packs have been beneficial for the cultural aspects of learning the language. We have been able to re-create art so the students can have real life experience. \r\nThe classroom set of markers have been extremely beneficial not only when learning about coloring, but also when completing projects so that students have a variety of colors to choose from. Our French teacher absolutely loved the new poster set given to her, as she had been eyeing the set for awhile. Our ASL teacher absolutely loved the stickers she is now able to give out as prizes in her classroom. \r\nThe disinfecting wipes have been used everyday in almost all of the classroom to help with keeping illness down and a clean classroom. \r\nThese are just some of the examples of the materials that we have gotten a chance to use and how grateful we are to make our classroom a better place to learn.\r\nCurrently we are ending the semester so we aren't using as many materials but our next unit will be very interactive so we can't wait to use more materials. \r\n\r\nThank you again so much for the donation & know that we appreciate all the gifts we received!","fullyFundedDate":1757511529377,"projectUrl":"project/donate-to-spanishfrenchasl-learners/9512327/","projectTitle":"Donate to Spanish/French/ASL Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9599902"},{"teacherId":4972376,"projectId":9235256,"letterContent":"Dear Allstate Foundation Team,\r\n\r\nI'm writing with immense excitement and gratitude on behalf of all the students involved in our \"Peer-Led Literacy\" program. Thank you so much for bringing our DonorsChoose project to life! Your support through The Allstate Foundation has truly allowed us to hit our two biggest goals: boosting English language literacy for our newer students and building serious leadership skills in our mentors.\r\n\r\nThe materials you provided aren't just sitting on a shelf—they are being used constantly to make a real difference in how our beginner and intermediate level English language learners engage with the language.\r\n\r\n🎉 Literacy: Making English Fun and Less Scary\r\n\r\nYour donation helped us turn what can be a tough process (learning a new language!) into an active and fun experience.\r\n\r\nStudent Whiteboards: These have been an absolute game-changer. When an ELL mentee is shy about speaking out, they can grab their small whiteboard to practice a word or a grammar concept. Our mentors love being able to walk around and give quick, helpful feedback. It creates a safe, low-pressure space that's really accelerating their learning.\r\n\r\nScattergories: This classic game is brilliant for building fluency and vocabulary. It encourages our students to think fast and get creative with their English, turning a learning session into a lively, competitive, and highly effective way to practice.\r\n\r\n🚀 Leadership: Mentors Stepping Up\r\n\r\nBeyond just the language skills, your donation is fueling the growth of future leaders right here in our school.\r\n\r\nThe Wagon: Building Responsibility: While a wagon might sound simple, it teaches real organizational and management skills. Our mentors are responsible for gathering all the materials—books, games, whiteboards—and getting them efficiently to the session location. This ownership and responsibility has truly helped them grow into reliable, capable leaders who are maximizing instructional time.\r\n\r\nA Culture of Care: Providing the inclusive incentives (candy) allows our mentors to create a positive, welcoming environment. They learn how to motivate, celebrate success, and practice cultural awareness—all essential skills for strong leaders. They are showing their mentees that they are valued and that every effort counts.\r\n\r\nSimply put, you helped us equip our students to support each other. Our peer mentors are developing empathy and leadership, and our English language learners are gaining the confidence and skills they need to succeed in our community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible belief in our students. We are so grateful for The Allstate Foundation's commitment to building strong students and strong communities.","fullyFundedDate":1747677878948,"projectUrl":"project/peer-led-literacy/9235256/","projectTitle":"Peer-Led Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McKinney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mckinney-english"},{"teacherId":4972376,"projectId":9136420,"letterContent":"I am absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful to share the incredible news: our classroom funding goal has been fully met! Because of your extraordinary generosity, my students and I will soon have the tools we need to make learning an unforgettable experience.\r\n\r\nThis project is truly going to transform engagement in our class. We'll be using the new game show buzzer system to run fun and educational quiz games, turning review sessions into exhilarating competitions like Jeopardy! and Family Feud. Your donation ensures that every student gets to participate comfortably, thanks to the extension cables that help us set up across the whole room. \r\n\r\nWe also secured a fantastic digital countdown timer. This simple, yet invaluable, tool will help us manage everything from quiz rounds and timed activities to ensuring our class transitions run smoothly and efficiently. It's all about helping us maximize our learning time and keep our focus sharp.\r\n\r\nYou haven't just bought equipment; you've invested in engagement, excitement, and inclusion.
