When the school year began, my classroom had zero chairs. I was able to find two old stools that other teachers didn't need, but I was still short more than twenty seats. For weeks, students rotated between sharing stools, standing, or borrowing chairs from other classrooms, which made hands-on engineering lessons stressful and uncomfortable. Your support completely changed that situation.\r\n\r\nWhen the stools arrived, my students were so excited they immediately started counting them and helping unpack and assemble each one. Several students said, \"We finally have real seats!\" For many of them, especially my larger classes, having a safe and sturdy place to sit made a huge difference in how focused and ready they felt to learn. The sense of pride they had in building their own learning environment was truly special.\r\n\r\nNow, thanks to you, our STEM lessons run smoothly. Students can collaborate on engineering projects, take notes in their notebooks, and work on digital design without worrying about where they will sit. Even though I am still short a few stools due to class size, having nearly the full set has completely transformed our space. Your donation didn't just give us furniture—it gave my students dignity, comfort, and a classroom that feels like their own. Thank you for stepping in when our district budget couldn't.","fullyFundedDate":1747342487514,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-stem-flexible-seating-for/9088098/","projectTitle":"Rolling into STEM: Flexible Seating for Future Innovators!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Watkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2974108_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784767521848","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/a-watkinsjstem"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11072","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":875,"numTeachers":86,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.1,"schoolId":11072,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kitty Hawk Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kitty Hawk Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/judson-independent-school-district/kitty-hawk-middle-school/11072"}
