My 6th graders come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique strengths and challenges to the classroom. Some are avid readers who devour books quickly, while others struggle with decoding, reading stamina, and/or reading comprehension.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, listening to a story read aloud through an audiobook helps them connect more deeply with literature and discover a love of reading, while others just need access to more books dealing with governments and our curriculum.\r\n\r\nThe Kindle will be used in many ways in mcy classroom. It will be used insmall groups, independent reading, and checked out to read at home. Students can select books about government or books of interest, whether it's a novel connected to our social studies curriculum or a government/historical book recommended by the teacher. Audiobook features will support students with reading challenges, English language learners, and those who need extra engagement.\r\n\r\nYou have helped so much by making reading more accessible and enjoyable.
