The new resources you helped provide have completely changed how my students work together.\r\n\r\nOne unforgettable moment came during our recent \"Community Problem Solvers\" project, where students teamed up to identify issues in our school (like lunchtime waste and playground safety) and brainstorm real solutions. With the new collaboration stations and materials, each group could plan, research, and create presentations with a level of focus and creativity I hadn't seen before. One student said, \"It feels like we're in a real office!\" This comment made me realize how empowered they felt in their new learning environment.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, their excitement was through the roof. You should've seen their faces light up as they explored the new tools, tested out whiteboard tables, shared ideas more easily, and moved more freely around the room. It wasn't just fun; it was energizing in a way that instantly changed our classroom culture.\r\n\r\nWe're currently diving into a peer mentoring project in which older students help younger ones build reading and communication skills. Thanks to your support, they now have the tools to work side by side, brainstorm, and reflect together in ways that foster real learning and confidence. These resources aren't just being used; they're being loved and helping students become better teammates, thinkers, and leaders.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of all my students, thank you for believing in this project. You didn't just fund supplies, you helped create a space where collaboration, creativity, and confidence can grow daily.","fullyFundedDate":1745931448749,"projectUrl":"project/collaboration-is-the-key-to-success/9210218/","projectTitle":"Collaboration is the key to success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Livsey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9975834_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y484&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743084882347","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9975834"},{"teacherId":9607041,"projectId":8911203,"letterContent":"The excitement in my classroom was undeniable when my students saw the new supplies from DonorsChoose. Their eyes lit up at the sight of the colorful pens, fresh notebooks, and stacks of tissue—simple items that make a huge difference in our learning environment. Some students immediately started flipping through the notebooks, eager to claim one for their writing assignments. Their joy and appreciation were heartfelt, with several students asking, \"Who gave us this?\" and \"Where did this come from?\" It was a beautiful moment of gratitude and realization that people beyond our classroom believe in them and their education.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have already made an impact on our daily activities. The highlighters and pens have transformed how my students engage with their reading and writing exercises, helping them annotate texts and organize their thoughts more effectively. In a recent lesson, we used the colorful pens to add creativity to our brainstorming sessions, making mind maps that visually connected ideas in a way that truly resonated with them. The notebooks have given students a dedicated space to reflect on their learning, practice new skills, and express themselves freely. Something as simple as having the right materials has empowered them to take ownership of their education with renewed enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to play a vital role in our classroom. My students are always writing, where they are using their new notebooks to take notes, draft outlines, and refine their ideas. The highlighters help them identify key points as they read. With these tools, they are not only learning academic skills but also developing confidence in their abilities. Thanks to the generosity of the donors, my students have what they need to succeed, and I am beyond grateful for the support that has made this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1736520619008,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/8911203/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ogeer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9607041_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750973103072","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsogeer"},{"teacherId":9713875,"projectId":8714651,"letterContent":"When I found out my project was funded, I was beyond excited for my students. I serve teenagers and adolescents in a lower socio-economic part of town. These students face so many challenges and hardships on a daily basis that do not have a positive impact on their mental health. Being able to support them and equip them with tools to better their mental health and ability to handle life's challenges is my role. Having the resources to do so has meant the world to me and them.\r\n\r\nMy students love the therapy games! Each student has a unique set of issues to handle and navigate. It can be hard to get them to focus in sessions sometimes. The therapy games have been a game changer for a lot of my students. The games help them to focus and to stay on topic during sessions. One particular student comes in looking for the therapy card game. He loves the questions and scenarios presented in the game and has grown so much from talking about the topics. The games have been a fun way to help to teach them how to handle real-life scenarios through game play. Using these resources has been a tremendous help in teaching students coping skills and healthy mental health habits. They are now being given tools to use to calm down and are learning how to process their feelings and thoughts. The materials help them to open up and actively engage during sessions. The tools and games allow my students the opportunity to reflect on their feelings and provide them the opportunity to practice coping skills and learn how to identify and manage their emotions. The mindfulness books are a hit as well. My students like the coloring books to help them remain calm and focus while participating in sessions.\r\n\r\nThe workbooks have been invaluable. The provide thought-provoking scenarios for my students to work through how they would handle different situations in the real world. They are learning how to handle conflict in a healthy way. I have also been able to provide education and resources to their families as well to help foster better relationships, open communication, and mental health. The tools promote the importance of mental health and social-emotional well being and have helped me to emphasize this message to my students. They look forward to seeing what new activities and materials we will use in their next sessions! I, and my students, cannot thank you enough for funding this project to provide them with resources to help them become emotionally healthy, well-rounded teenagers.
