With access to their own headphones, students were able to fully engage in READ 180 without distractions and with greater independence. They could hear instructions clearly, focus on their individualized lessons, and move through segments with increased confidence.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, reading intervention can feel frustrating and overwhelming. The headphones helped create a calmer, more supportive learning experience where students could truly concentrate on their work. I saw improved time-on-task, higher completion rates, and greater perseverance during independent practice. Students were proud to use the new equipment and felt that their learning mattered.\r\n\r\nBecause of donor support, my classroom now has the tools needed to support focused learning, build confidence, and give every student an equitable opportunity to grow as a reader.","fullyFundedDate":1766530098746,"projectUrl":"project/hear-every-word-headphones-for-reading/9962708/","projectTitle":"Hear Every Word: Headphones for Reading Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gajdica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9790103_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765926318502","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9790103"},{"teacherId":9790103,"projectId":9853728,"letterContent":"Thanks to the book bins provided through a previous DonorsChoose project, our classroom library has been completely transformed. Books are now organized by level and genre, making it easier for students to quickly find texts that are a good fit for them. This simple change has had a powerful impact on student independence and engagement.\r\n\r\nStudents no longer wait for help to choose a book—they confidently select texts on their own, transition smoothly between activities, and spend more time actually reading. The organized bins have also helped students better understand their own reading goals and levels, which has increased motivation and ownership of learning.\r\n\r\nFor me as a teacher, the bins have made small-group instruction and intervention more efficient. I can quickly pull targeted texts, differentiate instruction, and ensure students are practicing with appropriate materials. Overall, the book bins have created a calmer, more purposeful reading environment where students feel successful and supported.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a place where readers can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1762267530433,"projectUrl":"project/help-organize-my-reading-intervention-cl/9853728/","projectTitle":"Help Organize My Reading Intervention Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gajdica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9790103_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765926318502","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9790103"},{"teacherId":9790103,"projectId":9194730,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my classroom library has been transformed into a place of true excitement and joy. The new grade-level, high-interest books you provided are already making a tremendous difference. Students who once hesitated to choose a book are now rushing to check one out, eager to find the next story that speaks to them.\r\n\r\nOne series in particular has captured their hearts—the One and Only Ivan books. Because of our read-aloud last year, students already felt a connection to the characters, and now they are thrilled to dive deeper into the series independently. It is such a joy to see them so motivated to read, and to hear them sharing favorite parts with one another during and after independent reading time.\r\n\r\nYour support has turned reading into something my students look forward to each day. Thank you for giving them the gift of books that not only meet their reading levels but also spark their curiosity and imagination.
