During the big freeze in Texas in 2021, a main water pipe burst inside a wall and flooded my entire school. Teachers and students were displaced across seven different campuses while my school was being repaired. During the process, the lockers were removed and never replaced. Since then, students haven't had a place to keep supplies, and that burden has fallen on us teachers. Your generosity has eliminated the \"I don't have a pencil\" or \"I don't have paper\" issues, allowing students to focus on learning instead of worrying about basic materials. In a math classroom, small items like pencils and paper are crucial to student success.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase markers have made a huge impact across multiple classrooms. I shared some with other teachers in my department, and we've noticed that these markers write better and last longer over the course of the school day. It's so nice to run activities using the small whiteboards without hearing \"my marker doesn't work\" every class period. Being able to switch between pencil and paper and marker and whiteboard keeps math class fresh, engaging, and provides a nice change of pace.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I can't wait for our polynomials unit next semester and I'll be able to use the magnetic algebra tiles. Algebra tiles are a powerful visual aid that help students add, subtract, multiply, and factor polynomials. Combined with the old fashion way of working polynomials by pencil and paper, you are providing my students multiple strategies to use and then improve their problem solving skills. And as you know, general problem solving skills are probably the most important thing we learn in school that translates to the real world.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we can focus on students and their learning rather than whether they brought supplies that day. While it may seem small, your gift has been a true blessing. Thank you for making a lasting difference in our classrooms and investing in our future.","fullyFundedDate":1757728877383,"projectUrl":"project/from-pencils-to-possibility-fueling-mat/9475986/","projectTitle":"From Pencils to Possibility: Fueling Math Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Saiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10083155_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752786195309","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10083155"},{"teacherId":9906232,"projectId":9078292,"letterContent":"Thank you for giving us this opportunity to explore what Kindness looks like visually!
