Your kindness has truly made a meaningful difference for our students. We have around 100 students on the playground at the same time, and before your support, it was challenging to keep everyone safely engaged, with many students crowded onto the playscape. Because of your contribution, we are now able to spread students out across a variety of activities.\r\n\r\nStudents are enjoying soccer, basketball, and other ball games, as well as jumping and group games that encourage movement and teamwork. Not only has this improved safety, but it has also created more opportunities for students to discover new interests and build confidence in different sports. Additionally, the equipment has helped us teach responsibility, as students are learning how to properly use, share, and care for the materials.\r\n\r\nIt has been wonderful to see our students more active, engaged, and excited during recess. We use them at least once per week in all of my kindergarten through 5th grade reading groups. We started off using the leveled reader books in September and moved further into looking for phonics skill words as we read certain levels. My younger students love working with the vowel cvc Velcro words! They have really been working hard to sound out and blend each word before looking at the picture to help them decode it. My older students enjoy the Lakeshore sentence reading stems and they like to use them for game time instead of an actual game which is awesome! I simply love that people like you exist and support educators and their students reach certain goals through Donors Choose. We are a Title I school, and many of our students either have not had many experiences with books or are not motivated to read because the books available are not inviting. I took note of my students' preferences and ordered books that will motivate them to read. Now they are asking me about this next book in the Non-fiction Fly Guy series, or they want to read all the Bad Kitty books and Good Egg series books. We also always appreciate the opportunity to get books in their home language. They consumed all the Spanish books and moved on to the English books. Thank you so much for supporting our 2nd language learners this year. We hope that you will continue to do so. Your contribution has made a difference in my students' reading; Together we have helped students to read because they want to, not because they have to.
