The donated tablets, headphones, classroom decorations, and classroom rule displays have helped transform our space into one where students feel excited, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe tablets have been especially impactful because they provide students with access to personalized literacy practice, interactive reading activities, and digital learning tools that help strengthen foundational reading skills. Technology allows students to receive immediate feedback, work at their individual levels, and stay actively engaged in ways that traditional instruction alone cannot always provide. For many of our students, this hands-on access to technology has increased both motivation and confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also made a tremendous difference by allowing students to fully focus during independent learning time without distractions. This has been especially helpful for students who benefit from auditory support, listening comprehension activities, and a quieter learning experience.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is having access to tools that make learning feel interactive and empowering. The tablets quickly became a favorite because students feel a sense of ownership and independence while using them for reading practice and educational activities.\r\n\r\nSome of our students who were previously hesitant or less engaged during literacy time have especially connected with this new technology. Students who thrive with visual and interactive learning opportunities have shown increased participation, enthusiasm, and persistence. Additionally, the classroom decorations and clearly displayed expectations have helped create a warm, structured environment where students feel safe, motivated, and proud to learn.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students are not only building stronger reading skills, but they are also developing confidence, independence, and excitement about learning. Thank you for investing in our Rising Readers and helping us create meaningful learning experiences every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769177271138,"projectUrl":"project/rising-readers/9871531/","projectTitle":"Rising Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haskins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10340238"},{"teacherId":10347389,"projectId":9887417,"letterContent":"I am so excited to share with you about our donations. Our students have been clean and healthy after using the products we received. Having the products in the rooms at the beginning of school, during lunch, and during the day makes them feel better. Neukom Family Foundation with your donations, we can proudly say our students are healthier and a little cleaner because of your support. As the year progresses tissues have been slowly depleted and are most needed. As they enter the building, some students may not have cleaned their faces nor their hands. By having a quick use of the wipes nearby helps to clean germs, after coughing or sneezing we know that germs are being killed by having the wet wipes. By spraying our rooms with Lysol also contained the germs. When going to recess and coming back inside, the Body Wipes are extremely helpful for the overactive bodily smells. The soapy wipes can interfere with their eating. At lunch they would sometimes have recess first and they would use some Wet Ones wipes for their hands. They love picking wildflowers which contribute to making their hands a little smelly. Students did not get picked on by others because of smells or being dirty. All of the products helped improve our students attendance. If the students are healthier, we know they will come to school and be focused on their learning better just by being here. Thanks ever so kindly for bring a part of our students' successes.","fullyFundedDate":1769192029640,"projectUrl":"project/happy-and-healthy/9887417/","projectTitle":"Happy and Healthy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bradford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10347389"},{"teacherId":9094866,"projectId":9737260,"letterContent":"The donation of supplies to our 4th grade classroom has made a meaningful and lasting impact on both my students and our daily learning environment. Having access to adequate classroom supplies ensures that every student is able to participate fully in lessons without worrying about whether they have the materials they need. Items such as pencils, notebooks, markers, folders, and other learning tools may seem simple, but they play a vital role in supporting student success. Because of this generous donation, my students are better prepared to focus on learning, building skills, and gaining confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving these supplies, some students had to share materials or work without the tools necessary to complete assignments comfortably. This sometimes caused distractions and limited their ability to stay engaged. Now, each student has access to their own materials, which has created a more organized and productive classroom environment. Students are able to begin work right away, participate in group activities, and complete independent tasks with confidence. The availability of supplies has helped eliminate small barriers that can otherwise interfere with learning.\r\n\r\nThe donated materials have also made it possible to incorporate more hands-on and creative activities into our lessons. In math, students can use tools such as rulers, graph paper, and manipulatives to better understand problem-solving and measurement concepts. In reading and writing, students are able to organize their thoughts using notebooks and journals, allowing them to track their progress and reflect on their learning. Art supplies such as colored pencils and markers help students illustrate ideas and express themselves in meaningful ways, which supports both creativity and comprehension.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the donation has had a positive emotional impact on my students. Many students take pride in having their own new supplies and treat them with care and responsibility. When students feel prepared and equipped, they develop a stronger sense of confidence and independence. The supplies also help create a classroom environment where students feel valued and supported. Knowing that others care enough to contribute to their education encourages students to try their best and take their work seriously.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have also helped strengthen our classroom community. Because students now have consistent materials, group projects and cooperative learning activities run more smoothly. Students can share ideas and collaborate without worrying about limited resources. This has improved both communication and teamwork skills, which are important for academic and social development.\r\n\r\nThe donation has also reduced the financial burden on families and on the classroom. Teachers often spend personal funds to provide materials, and families may struggle to replace lost or used supplies throughout the year. This generous contribution ensures that students continue to have what they need to succeed without added stress. It allows me, as the teacher, to focus more on instruction and meeting individual learning needs rather than trying to gather additional materials.\r\n\r\nOverall, the donation of classroom supplies has created a more supportive, engaging, and effective learning environment for my 4th grade students. These materials are used every day and directly contribute to student growth, confidence, and success. The generosity shown through this donation is making a real difference in the lives of my students and helping them build the skills they need for the future.","fullyFundedDate":1761932263987,"projectUrl":"project/the-mathematicians/9737260/","projectTitle":"The Mathematicians","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Timms","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9094866_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689530443023","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9094866"},{"teacherId":9094866,"projectId":9483848,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for helping bring this project to life for my students! The new resources have made such a difference in our classroom. We've been using them daily to bring lessons to life and help every child stay engaged and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching the students' faces light up the first time they saw the new materials. They were so eager to explore and immediately began asking questions, sharing ideas, and connecting what they learned to real-world situations. It was one of those \"teacher joy\" moments — seeing curiosity and confidence bloom right before my eyes. Recently, we've been working on a hands-on project where students apply what they've learned in creative ways. The new materials have helped them collaborate more effectively, practice critical thinking, and express their ideas clearly. The classroom feels more alive, and their enthusiasm shows in every lesson!","fullyFundedDate":1758202919213,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-and-other-essentials/9483848/","projectTitle":"Headphones and Other Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Timms","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9094866_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689530443023","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9094866"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16989","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":249,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":79,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"7.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":16989,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Birdie Alexander Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Birdie Alexander Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/birdie-alexander-elementary-school/16989"}
