Our students have been using the new materials as part of hands-on science and garden-based learning across multiple classrooms. They've spent time exploring soil, planning garden layouts, and preparing the raised beds together. One of our favorite moments was watching groups of students work collaboratively to fill the beds, measure spacing, and take ownership of their garden areas. These resources have allowed them to make real-world connections to plant life cycles, physical properties, and responsibility in meaningful, joyful ways.\r\n\r\nAs the garden grows, students will engage in data collection, compare plant growth, and learn about sustainability and stewardship. Your support has created an opportunity for hands-on learning that stretches far beyond the classroom. We are incredibly grateful for your kindness and the positive impact you've made on our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1757524640629,"projectUrl":"project/from-beds-to-blooms-bringing-our-school/9601065/","projectTitle":"From Beds to Blooms: Bringing Our School Garden to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029801"},{"teacherId":9114972,"projectId":9613697,"letterContent":"My students and I are thrilled to be using our new floor lamps, desk lamp, and floor pillows every day. The extra lighting has transformed our classroom into a calm, cozy, and welcoming space. Students love choosing their own pillow to sit on during reading, writing, and small group activities. The softer lighting helps everyone feel more relaxed and focused throughout the day. During Read for a Better Life day we turned off the overhead lights, switched on our new lamps, and everyone chose a pillow to curl up with a good book. One student said that it was the best day ever! After exploring the different parts of plants and learning how they grow, the students had the incredible opportunity to plant their very own sunflower seeds.\r\n\r\nThe moment they first saw the seeds and soil, their faces lit up with curiosity and excitement. They carefully planted each seed, talking about the roots, stems, and leaves we had studied, and worked together to make sure each plant had everything it needed to grow. It was amazing to watch them connect what they had learned in class with the real-life process of growing something from a tiny seed.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we now have beautiful sunflowers growing and raised garden beds that we are working to bring to life! The students are so proud of their work, and we are planning to open our garden to the whole school in October, so everyone can see the fruits of their efforts. This project has not only taught them about science and responsibility, but it has also sparked teamwork, curiosity, and a love for nature that will continue to grow.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us in the classroom, and the kindergarten group, thank you for helping make this learning experience possible. Your support has helped our students see the magic of growth, both in plants and in themselves!","fullyFundedDate":1746995608953,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-building-a-garden-club-fo/9338119/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds: Building a Garden Club for our School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029801"},{"teacherId":9114972,"projectId":9308635,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the new chair pockets and paper organizer, their faces lit up. They immediately noticed how much easier it was to find and store their materials, and several of them commented that our classroom \"felt more grown-up and organized.\" The anchor chart organizer has also been a game-changer.\r\nThe chair pockets have also reduced lost papers and supplies, students know exactly where their materials belong, and it has made transitions much calmer.\r\nBecause of these resources, my students are better prepared and more focused on learning. They're taking pride in their classroom and their own organization skills. As we continue with our reading and writing projects, these tools will keep supporting their growth and independence. A portion of your funds have been used to purchase a sand pit for practicing capital and lowercase letter writing.\r\n\r\nSome of the funds were used to purchase ten frame dice. This has been especially useful in teaching students how to compare numbers from 0-20 while getting them accustomed to the language of using the phrases, \"more than,\" \"less than,\" and \"the same as.\" Students have been able to write those numbers on whiteboards and orally explain their thinking using comparative language.\r\n\r\nAnother set of tools that some of the funds have purchased have been many different sizes and shapes of magnets.
