The new math manipulatives you helped provide have become invaluable tools for helping my students connect with abstract math concepts in a tangible, hands-on way.\r\n\r\nFor instance, my 3rd graders have been working with place value disks to understand expanded notation. This concept can be tricky for students to grasp, but with the disks, they can physically manipulate the numbers and visualize the relationships, which makes the learning process so much clearer. The students have also had the chance to explore fraction tiles to better understand equivalent fractions. This is a key concept for third grade, and the fraction tiles have allowed students to see the relationships between fractions in a way that would be difficult without these hands-on tools.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting moments so far was when the students first saw the manipulatives. They were absolutely overjoyed! Their excitement was palpable as they couldn't wait to use the materials, especially when they learned they'd be the first ones to try them. They've been so eager to work in small groups to use the new tools, and it's been incredible to see their enthusiasm translate into deeper understanding.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next step will be to use the fraction tiles to compare fractions—this can be a tricky concept for 3rd graders to grasp, but with the tiles, students will be able to visually compare different fractions and see which ones are greater or less than the others. The visual representation really helps make abstract concepts much more concrete, and I'm confident this will support their learning.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. The impact of your contribution goes far beyond just providing materials—it's helping to foster a love for learning and creating a space where students can build a strong foundation in math. I can't wait to continue watching them grow and thrive with these tools!","fullyFundedDate":1757946291404,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-math-building-stronger-skills/9403762/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Math: Building Stronger Skills With Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Willis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3534557"},{"teacherId":7536065,"projectId":8550639,"letterContent":"I am so excited to touch base with you all about the impact your donations have made at our school.
