My student stage managers are responsible for maintaining the supplies, binders, tracking scripts, and helping keep rehearsals running smoothly. It has given them a real sense of ownership and responsibility in our production.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stood out was when my stage managers first received the materials. They were genuinely excited - creating their binders, organizing scripts into the folders, and immediately stepping into their roles with pride. It made the experience feel more professional and helped them see themselves as an important part of the production team, not just participants.\r\n\r\nThe folders have also been incredibly helpful for keeping student scripts organized. Each student has a designated place for their script, which has reduced confusion and allowed us to maximize our rehearsal time. Students are more prepared, and transitions during rehearsal are much smoother.\r\n\r\nOur next steps as we continue working on our current production, Fairytales Go to Court, are to move deeper into full run-throughs and polishing performances. Now that students are becoming more confident with their lines, the stage managers are beginning to take on an even bigger leadership role - helping with transitions and supporting their peers.\r\n\r\nThanks to these resources, my students are not only learning about theater but also developing organization, leadership, and teamwork skills that will stay with them beyond the stage.","fullyFundedDate":1769381523984,"projectUrl":"project/backstage-basics-for-student-stage-manag/10028996/","projectTitle":"Backstage Basics for Student Stage Managers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10406592_orig.jpg?crop=778,778,x224,y664&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768422220351","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10406592"},{"teacherId":6592495,"projectId":9881595,"letterContent":"Thank you for being a donor that chose to help students have a space to create art. So far, my afterschool art club has benefited from your generosity the most. My temporary space does not include any seating or tables for my artists to use. They were so excited the first time that they used these portable desks. They didn't believe a product like this actually existed. I wish you could have seen their reaction! \r\nThe desks are a welcome addition to our campus. I hope that when my new art room is complete that I can continue to use them in others ways, such as taking students outside to create art on great weather days or to allow them a private space if necessary. We run it throughout the school day, especially during independent work time and small-group instruction, to help keep our air clean and reduce the spread of germs. One immediate change I noticed was how much fresher the room feels after recess and transitions. Students are able to settle in faster and stay focused longer. While we are still actively working on remembering to cover coughs and sneezes, the air purifier has definitely been a helpful backup as those habits continue to develop.\r\nWhen the students first saw the air purifier, they were genuinely excited and curious. Several asked how it worked and why clean air matters, which led to a quick, student-friendly discussion about health, breathing, and taking care of our shared space. It was a great teachable moment that helped them feel ownership of their classroom environment.\r\nBecause of this resource, our next steps include continuing to build strong learning routines in a healthier classroom setting. As we move forward with lessons that require close collaboration, discussion, and focus, this air purifier helps ensure students can learn more comfortably and with fewer interruptions due to illness. Your support has created a safer, calmer space where learning can truly thrive.
