What started as a simple opportunity to practice a skill has become one of my students' favorite parts of the day. They come into class, pick up their pencil, and spend a few quiet minutes practicing their handwriting before we begin our regular lesson. My students have repeatedly commented on how much they enjoy the calmness and quiet focus it brings to the beginning of class. In a school day filled with screens, notifications, and constant stimulation, there is something surprisingly powerful about slowing down and putting pencil to paper.\r\n\r\nThe resources purchased with this gift card have also allowed me to provide engaging practice in areas such as vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, morphology, informational text, digital citizenship, plagiarism, and college-readiness skills. These resources give me additional ways to meet students where they are while keeping learning relevant and engaging.\r\n\r\nI have especially noticed students who sometimes struggle to settle into class or become overwhelmed by a busy school environment responding positively to the handwriting routine. For those few minutes, there is no rush and no pressure to have the \"right\" answer—just an opportunity to practice, focus, and reset.
