While many people love reading for enjoyment, teaching reading involves intentionally building skills and these texts have helped us do just that. Through these books, students are practicing key literacy skills such as identifying main ideas and details, making inferences, expanding vocabulary, and understanding characters and text structure. The variety of genres and topics has also allowed us to introduce lessons on comparing texts, asking thoughtful questions, and making connections to their own lives.\r\nReading in our classroom is an active, engaging experience. Students read independently, in small groups, and together as a class. You'll often see students discussing stories with partners, rereading favorite pages, using sticky notes to mark important ideas, and choosing books that truly interest them. The new books have increased students' motivation and confidence, making reading a part of our daily routine that they genuinely look forward to.\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant or reluctant readers have been especially excited about these new additions. Some students are drawn to the colorful illustrations and relatable characters, while others are proud to finally find books that match their reading level and interests. Seeing their excitement when they discover a book they love and watching their confidence grow as they successfully read and discuss it has been incredibly rewarding.\r\nYour support has helped foster a love of reading, strengthened essential literacy skills, and created joyful learning moments for our students.
