The students were excited to have stepping stones to paint for our garden space. They were able to prepare them and place one in each garden bed as a marker. This not only adds a touch of beauty but will allow teachers to easily identify their class's assigned bed. The teachers appreciate having them in place.\r\n\r\nAs we are preparing for Spring, we have been able to get out into the gardens and use the gloves to help us clean up the area. We will be preparing the birdhouses and places them in the garden in the next couple of weeks as well. The students are looking forward to working on that project. It was wonderful to have them on hand and not to have to worry about not having what my students need to complete their daily work. This year my students came without some of these basic items, and they were so happy to have these.\r\n\r\nI was able to give students folders, scissors, glue, and pencils that they use throughout the curriculum areas, and they are able to stay organized. As new students are added to my class, I am able to give them what they need. The dry erase boards and markers are used frequently and kept at their tables. They are able to quickly pull them out and use them as needed to work out problems and provide responses. We have been able to use the different math materials in their centers. I have been pleased to offer these options to my students as additional practice. \r\n\r\nI have been able to use the Jumbo Magnetic Ten Frames and Number Bonds to model addition and subtraction concepts to my class. Then, my students move to small group stations where they were able to use items such as House of Number Buddies math game and SCRIBBLEDO Number Bonds 9\"x12\" Small White Board Dry Erase Sheets to practice the skill. \r\n\r\nI have been able to do that with every math unit that these materials connect with (money, time, place value, etc). For example, we are using Jumbo Colorful Magnetic Base Ten Blocks and other related materials for our current unit on place value. The students love to use the cushions while they are in their reading station. They are often reading individually or with a partner, and these help them define their space and get comfortable. The two wobbly chairs complete the set at my table for small group instruction. The students are enjoying these seats, and I find that they are more centered and focused.\r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives have been organized in the pencil boxes, making it easier for the students to work in their centers. I have been able to set up stations for the students to be able to work and feel productive.
