Because of your generous donations, we have been able to create so many things. We have designed, printed and created adapted books to go with the many themes throughout the year. This is helping our students access the general education curriculum at a level more functional to their ability. This is also helping them learn foundational vocabulary for developing their language and literacy skills. \r\n\r\nAs literacy is something my students with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices have difficulty accessing or naturally participating in, I have been able to create adapted literacy that includes the AAC icons to support their development of their AAC language. I hope to expand these over the next year and subsequent years to support students with AAC as young as 3 develop their literacy skills more easily.
