I now have the tools to create visual supports and materials that truly meet each child's needs. Your kindness has made learning more joyful, meaningful, and accessible. \r\n Your gift is more than a printer - it's a daily reminder that my work matters and that I am not in it alone. Your thoughtful contribution has made an immediate and meaningful difference for many of our learners—especially those with ADHD and other attention or sensory needs.\r\nThe \"twisty seat cushions\" (as the kiddos call them) have quickly become an essential part of our daily learning routine. Students who once struggled to stay focused or comfortable during lessons are now able to channel their energy in a productive way. The gentle movement and sensory feedback provided by these cushions help students regulate their bodies, stay engaged, and feel calmer throughout the day. Rather than fidgeting with items that might distract them or their peers, they can now quietly shift, twist, or wobble on the cushions while maintaining focus on their work.\r\nIt's truly inspiring to watch how such a simple tool can transform a student's learning experience. One of my students who often found it hard to sit through reading groups now proudly grabs a cushion each morning and says, \"This helps my brain work better!\" Another student who used to avoid sitting for writing time now participates enthusiastically and completes tasks with greater independence. These small moments of success build confidence and help our students develop the self-regulation skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.\r\nBeyond the academic benefits, the cushions have also supported a more inclusive classroom environment. They show students that everyone learns differently and that it's okay to use tools that help you do your best. This message of acceptance and understanding encourages empathy among peers and reminds all of us that learning is not \"one size fits all.\"\r\nYour donation has also made a positive impact on classroom management and instruction. When students' physical and sensory needs are met, the whole class benefits. Lessons flow more smoothly, transitions are easier, and students are more willing to take academic risks because they feel comfortable and supported. The cushions have created a classroom atmosphere that is both calmer and more focused, allowing learning to take center stage.\r\nThank you for recognizing the importance of meeting students' diverse needs and for investing in tools that make a real difference. Your generosity has gone beyond providing classroom materials—you've given students the chance to feel successful, included, and understood. That kind of support is invaluable and will continue to benefit our students for years to come.\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your partnership and commitment to student success. Your donation reminds our students that there are people who believe in them and in their potential to learn and grow. Thank you again for your kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping every child reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1755214613321,"projectUrl":"project/exterminating-the-ants-in-our-pants/9562517/","projectTitle":"Exterminating the Ants in Our Pants","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7536030_orig.jpg?crop=389,390,x592,y257&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749757286371","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7536030"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69374","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":303,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":69374,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Northfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Northfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/white-county-school-district/northfield-elementary-school/69374"}
