With the donated fabric, stuffing, needles, and thread, students have been able to design and hand-sew their very own stuffed animals. This project has not only strengthened their fine motor skills but also fostered creativity as they sketched original designs, chose materials, and brought their ideas to life. The sewing kits allowed each student to work hands-on and independently, something that would not have been possible without these resources.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up with excitement. Many had never had the opportunity to use \"real\" sewing supplies before, and the idea of creating something soft, colorful, and completely their own was inspiring. They eagerly sorted through the fabric, debated which colors and patterns best matched their designs, and were immediately engaged in the process. For many, it was their first experience with sewing, and their enthusiasm grew with every stitch.\r\n\r\nAs for next steps, students are now moving into the final phase of the project: adding personal touches and details to their stuffed animals. Some are embroidering names or initials, while others are sewing on accessories or creating small habitats for their creations as part of an art display. We plan to host a small classroom showcase where students will share their process and finished products, celebrating their hard work and creativity. This project has opened the door for more textile-based art in our curriculum and inspired students to think about how sewing and soft sculpture can be a powerful form of self-expression.","fullyFundedDate":1739712902917,"projectUrl":"project/support-our-handmade-stuffed-animal-proj/9115730/","projectTitle":"Support Our Handmade Stuffed Animal Project!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nief","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3056512_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729628035055","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/inskipart"},{"teacherId":10058450,"projectId":9424738,"letterContent":"Every classroom guidance lesson I teach includes practicing a coping skill for the month. Your support is making a meaningful difference in our student's learning experiences. Two of the resources that were donated were number tiles and a globe. The number tiles have helped students develop a deeper understanding of numbers, counting, and basic mathematical concepts and serve as a hands on, visual tool to grasp abstract ideas. The globe has served as a powerful visual tool that brings geography to life, allowing student to explore continents, countries, and oceans first hand. The student's wasted no time taking advantage of these donations once we received them. Students also have enjoyed the whiteboards to show me their answers. Then, I can quickly check the students work. \r\n\r\nOnce the number tiles were unpacked, the students immediately wanted to use them to help them understand equivalent fractions and compare fractions.
