Thanks to your donations, every student in my Geometry classes now has a high-quality binder to call their own.\r\n\r\nIn a subject like Geometry, where students are constantly juggling notes, theorem packets, and coordinate proofs, staying organized is half the battle. These binders have truly transformed our daily routine:\r\n\r\nOrganization: Students love having a dedicated \"home\" for all their Geometry materials.\r\n\r\nAccountability: I am thrilled to report that \"almost nothing\" is ever lost! Students can now access their past work instantly to study for exams.\r\n\r\nClassroom Flow: By using our school colors (Red and Blue) to color-code by block, I've been able to streamline my own grading and storage system, making the entire classroom run more efficiently.\r\n\r\nAs I prepare to move to a six-block schedule next year, the foundation you've helped me build will be more important than ever. It has been great seeing my students connect their cultures to the things that we're reading in class each day! \r\n\r\nAs we read this novel, students have taken the time to read aloud in groups, independently, and with the audiobook of Binti! We have been learning about electricity and circuits for the past month, so my students were very excited to be able to build something they could learn from and take home. We spent a few class periods working on this, with some time in between, and I had students asking me about when we were going to work on our bugs again because they were so excited! \r\n\r\nI was happy to be able to see my students troubleshooting their circuits and keep working even when it was tough. They were so pleased with their final products! This skill is going to help them with further projects and activities where they need perseverance and resilience. The high-yield toner arrived and immediately brought our essential classroom printer back to life. In a busy classroom, printed materials are truly the backbone of instruction, and my students were so relieved to see that we could once again produce the necessary resources for their daily learning.\r\n\r\nWe immediately put the printer to work creating differentiated practice problem sets, ensuring every student gets exactly the level of reinforcement they need. For our current unit on functions, the ability to print detailed diagrams and specialized graph paper has been crucial for visualizing complex theorems and building confidence. Having a consistent supply of ink ensures all my math students consistently have access to the hands-on resources they need to build mastery.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has significantly enhanced our classroom's dynamic learning environment, empowering me to deliver the precise, paper-based instruction that is fundamental for every student's success in advanced mathematics. Our next step is using this uninterrupted printing capability to provide timely practice tests and study guides as we prepare for our major exams. Thank you for making their math journey smoother and more successful.","fullyFundedDate":1758202628696,"projectUrl":"project/dont-let-our-learning-run-dry/9505536/","projectTitle":"Don't Let Our Learning Run Dry!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bangura","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2226200_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1577554578468","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2226200"},{"teacherId":2226200,"projectId":9524440,"letterContent":"I cannot express my deepest gratitude for your contribution that fully funded our classroom project! The project aimed to create a space that supports my students' health and mathematical focus, and thanks to you, we have achieved that.\r\n\r\nOur classroom is now visibly cleaner and more inspiring. The new whiteboard cleaner and microfiber cloths have not only made our main instruction board pristine, but they've also empowered students to keep their individual whiteboard desks clean. The cube timer is already a favorite, adding an element of fun and structure to our daily math routines and helping students prepare for timed challenges with focus and confidence. As we transition into our next unit on quadratic equations, we are starting from a place of renewed pride and focus.\r\n\r\nYour support goes far beyond the materials themselves—it sends a powerful message that you believe in the future of our students. At Austin East we are 2800 MADE which means that we're Mindful, Accountable, Determined, and Engaged. In order to make this connection, I asked each class to share their experiences in high school so far where someone contributed to them feeling bad about themselves. I asked them about the actions of the other person and how they responded in return. Then I asked them to point out where they did or did not show kindness towards that person. From there we talked about how kindness fits into the attributes of students from AEMHS. Although kindness isn't explicitly named, it plays a huge part in how we interact with peers and teachers. \r\n\r\nFollowing the class discussions students were tasked with planning a poster. Their posters were to be combined with all of the posters from my other two classes, so it was important that they were cohesive. I explained to them that we were building a huge (paper) quilt that will hang in our hallway for all students to see. The goal of the quilt is to inspire students to not only embody the 2800 made attributes, but to inspire them to be kind to themselves and others. \r\n\r\nWe spent a couple of days planning and creating the posters. They were placed in the hallway between our classroom and the cafeteria, where we thought the most students would see it. \r\n\r\nFor most of my students, this was the first time, outside of art class, they have been allowed to have creative control, so many were reluctant and didn't know where to start. I think the final project is charming and I plan to continue the conversation started through this project with them as the year progresses. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your thoughtful donations.
