They get bored with doing worksheets to review the vocabulary they learn in class, so when they saw the new games, they were very excited. They loved using the buzzers in team games. They really liked being able to record their own voices with their team names so we knew who hit the buzzer first.\r\nSome days, we would have stations where they could rotate around and try different things. I was surprised by how much they enjoyed Bananagrams. It was very entertaining for me to watch them trying to remember the words they had learned in class. Because they were able to use the version designed specifically for Spanish, they were able to practice using accents and other letters they wouldn't normally have to use. These things have a lasting impact on the students. They remember the lessons better with hands-on activities. More than once, I have seen my students showing their friends what they created and sharing what they learned. Students from other classes have even come and asked to participate and learn about them too. Representation is so important in a high school library; the books from this project help widen the scope of representation within our school. \r\n\r\nI am working hard to increase student engagement within our library.
