Students use them on a daily basis to help them learn the material. In my classroom we are a play based preschool with learning how to work together. The sensory corner has been a big help in allowing students to calm down if they get overwhelmed. \r\nI have several students who need to take a break or remove themselves from a activity because it is to much for them. \r\nWhen placing the items out for them to play with they were really excited. I went over the rules and expectations of how I wanted them to utilize them. \r\nI will post a picture, but not allowed to have the students be in it because of policies. Just know that they thank you and are excited to learn in a different way. As of know, I have my room completed the way I would like it. So I will not do another project, but just know you have impacted the students lives.","fullyFundedDate":1752256971985,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-corner/9274899/","projectTitle":"Sensory Corner!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kubal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732371"},{"teacherId":9642809,"projectId":8615908,"letterContent":"These new resources have given the class the opportunity to explore new topics. The STEM set is a great resource for early finishers. They can grab it and the materials needed and explore. The social emotional set gives us an opportunity to learn about different social events and share our opinions on how to solve social differences. We were able to organize our library with the baskets! We use the pillows a lot during our \"Individualized Daily Reading\" to get comfy while reading. When the class saw all of the resources coming in, they were so excited to see what was in the box and share their thoughts on how to use them. We are so grateful for the generous contributions made to support our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1731561296971,"projectUrl":"project/lets-grow-together-classroom/8615908/","projectTitle":"Lets Grow Together - Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cap","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9642809"},{"teacherId":9732371,"projectId":9031165,"letterContent":"Thank you again for helping me supply my classroom with these new toys. The students have been using these toys during play time, centers and independent play. For example, I will put together 7 centers with the toys. I like to do small social groups. These groups consist of 3 students. They will work on interacting, using their manners, and sharing the toys. \r\n When we first got the boxes in the mail, the students were curious of what was inside. I explained to the students that I had made a wish list of new things that I would like to add to my classroom to help them learn. The boxes were opened, and the students were surprised at what we had gotten. Once I got everything opened, I let the students explore and play with them freely. \r\n Thank you again for contributing to my project. The children love learning new ways to play with the toys and how I can put them together to go with a lesson that I am teaching them. I will continue using the items that I got with social lessons to teach them how to share and work with others on a daily basis.","fullyFundedDate":1736198810689,"projectUrl":"project/changing-the-way-our-kids-learn-hands-o/9031165/","projectTitle":"Changing the Way our Kids Learn, Hands On","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kubal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732371"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91754","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":114,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":91754,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Scotland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Scotland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-dakota/scotland-school-district-4-3/scotland-elementary-school/91754"}
