The Chew Necklaces are a god send for my students who need a distraction during whole group instruction time. They can chew on their necklace instead of their shirt, which happened daily prior to receiving them. The biggest thing that excited them was knowing that a donor gifted them these items, not myself or the principal. Knowing that someone out there wants them to have nice things and learn with new materials was a great emotional building skill detrimental for kindergarteners. They are still learning that others have feelings and make decisions that might affect them without their input. It is a blessing to see this occur first hand.\r\n\r\nI am happy to say that students will take the knowledge learned in my classroom, with the assistance of your contributions, and a new emotional understanding of the way actions can impact multiple people and be successful in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1734891816963,"projectUrl":"project/small-little-project/9016752/","projectTitle":"Small Little Project!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5288463_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720719372833","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5288463"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92071","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":486,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":66,"percentIndigenous":8,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":63.3,"schoolId":92071,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rapid Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rapid Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-dakota/rapid-city-area-school-district-51-4/rapid-valley-elementary-school/92071"}
