Students have been able to explore their creativity in new ways, especially through hands-on art projects that encourage fine motor development and self-expression. The origami paper has been a class favorite—students use it not only for traditional folding projects but also for math lessons involving symmetry, angles, and following sequential steps.\r\n\r\nThe variety of writing and drawing tools has given students the freedom to experiment with different textures, colors, and techniques. Acrylic markers and felt pens have helped students create vibrant posters, detailed illustrations, and personalized crafts with confidence. Our new paint brushes have allowed us to dive deeper into painting activities that support both artistic skill and emotional expression. Meanwhile, the storage containers have kept our classroom organized and accessible, allowing students to independently choose materials and take responsibility for their workspace.\r\n\r\nOverall, these supplies have transformed our room into a space where imagination, collaboration, and independent learning can thrive. Your generosity has empowered students to create meaningful work, build confidence, and take pride in their projects. We are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact these resources have already made—and will continue to make—throughout the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1760719653281,"projectUrl":"project/art-supplies-and-art-storage/9791439/","projectTitle":"Art Supplies and Art Storage","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Terhaar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9973250_orig.jpg?crop=100,100,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742500844492","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9973250"},{"teacherId":9973250,"projectId":9713223,"letterContent":"In our classroom, the materials we received have transformed everyday lessons into hands-on learning adventures. The STEM model cars have allowed students to explore force, motion, and engineering through real experimentation, while the microscopes opened an entirely new world—letting students observe details in plants, soil, and everyday objects with excitement and curiosity. The clay and house-building blocks have become essential tools during our design challenges, helping students plan, build, test, and revise structures while practicing creativity and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThe glow-in-the-dark bouncy ball kits, straw connectors, and Legos have been equally impactful, encouraging teamwork, imagination, and persistence. With Legos and straw connectors, students collaboratively build bridges, towers, and inventions that match their ideas, strengthening both STEM skills and communication. The bouncy ball kits bring science to life by letting students mix materials, observe changes, and test predictions—making chemistry concepts fun and memorable. Each item you provided has played a meaningful role in fostering exploration, critical thinking, and joy in learning.\r\n\r\nOverall, these tools have enriched our classroom environment and empowered students to think like young engineers and scientists. Pillow seats provided comfortable alternative seating options that helped students stay focused during independent reading, partner work, and small-group instruction. Storage containers allowed us to keep our materials organized and accessible, giving students greater independence and helping our classroom run more efficiently. The magnetic rods and balls, along with the stacking rocks, became essential components of our STEM centers, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor development through open-ended building challenges.\r\n\r\nThe collection of games we received—Hues and Clues, The Game of Life, Don't Spill the Beans, Perfection, Guess Who, Connect 4, and Sorry—played a meaningful role in both academic and social-emotional learning. Students used these games to practice critical thinking, vocabulary development, color recognition, and strategic planning. They also learned essential social skills such as turn-taking, communication, patience, and good sportsmanship. These activities created opportunities for students to build positive peer relationships while strengthening cognitive skills in a fun, low-pressure environment.\r\n\r\nOverall, these materials transformed our classroom into a more engaging, organized, and collaborative learning space. They saw the bank and whistle I made this summer in an art class I took, and I told them that they would make whistles too. They would ask me every day if we would be making them. :-) \r\n\r\nI teamed up with the grades 4-8 teacher to help my kids. It worked out great! All 26 kids were able to make a whistle. We were so busy walking around the classroom helping we were not able to get pictures. Getting the whistle to actually whistle was a challenge, but Mrs. Terhaar became a pro at it. We did this on a Friday, and we had kids come in on Monday and thank us for making whistles with them, which is rare for our kids. They sometimes lack manners. :-( \r\n\r\nWe have enough clay that we are going to make clay flower frogs to give to their mothers for Christmas. We will use a large, scalloped cookie cutter to cut it out and then lace doilies to imprint a design. Next, we will cut in the tiny holes for the flower to be placed. Then we will paint them with a water wash. When they are dry, we will add a fixative to protect it from water.","fullyFundedDate":1751492927743,"projectUrl":"project/pinch-pots-for-primary/9236107/","projectTitle":"Pinch Pots for Primary","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7939437_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755344463459","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7939437"},{"teacherId":7939437,"projectId":9237243,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for the new books.
