Because of you, we are able to transform our existing space into a more functional and impactful resource for all of our learners.\r\n\r\nOur sensory room has always been a helpful tool, but your support allows us to take it to the next level. I n fact, we were even able to relocate the room to a larger space—something that has been especially beneficial for our wheelchair-bound students, giving them better access and more room to participate fully. With the addition of a sensory tunnel, crash pad, sensory wall and table, swivel chairs, and portable light up sand tables, our students now have a space designed to meet a wide range of sensory, emotional, and behavioral needs. These resources provide a safe place to decompress, regulate, and return to class feeling calmer, more focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAlready, we are seeing the difference these tools make. Students have a variety of options to choose from depending on what their bodies need in the moment—whether it's movement, calming visuals, tactile engagement, or a safe space to release big energy. This flexibility allows every child, from junior kindergarten through fifth grade, to feel supported in their own unique way.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided tools and furniture—it has created opportunities for our students to thrive, feel understood, and succeed both in and out of the classroom. Thank you for believing in our kids and for making our sensory room a place where every learner can reset and shine.","fullyFundedDate":1745018515086,"projectUrl":"project/a-sensory-escape-helping-bes-kids-regul/9246974/","projectTitle":"A Sensory Escape: Helping BES Kids Regulate and Recharge","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9046788_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744236753294","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9046788"},{"teacherId":9046788,"projectId":9221687,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who generously donated to our classroom. Because of your support, I am able to bring in new sensory tools—sensory tiles, discovery tubes, and sand writing—that will make a world of difference for my students.\r\n\r\nMy students thrive on hands-on, sensory experiences, and these materials will create a more engaging and inclusive learning environment. Sensory tiles will provide the tactile and visual stimulation needed to help students with sensory processing challenges regulate their emotions and focus more effectively. Discovery tubes will spark curiosity and encourage fine motor development as students explore cause-and-effect relationships. Sand writing will give students a multi-sensory way to strengthen their literacy skills, reinforcing letter formation and spelling through tactile feedback—an incredible support for students with dyslexia and other learning differences.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my classroom will be a place where students can better engage, self-regulate, and learn in ways that honor their unique needs. We requested more floor tiles to go with the tiles that we previously had. We now have a total of 8 and everyone loves them! We have them laid out in a path so that right when you walk in the door you get to step on them. Adults and children alike always take the time to walk over them and comment on which one is their favorite.\r\nWe also requested circular glitter floor tiles. These are equally as big of a hit. We placed these in a circle by our class library. These are very stimulating for the kids. They love to stand on them and squish them around. The glitter tiles are a very different look from the other tiles that we have in the classroom.\r\nThese tiles are something that sets our room apart.
