Without your support this program would not be as enjoyable and engaging for our students. \r\n\r\nThe supplies we were able to purchase with your support have helped the students to get excited about math and want to stay active in our program. Our Number Ninjas love wearing their headbands to show how they are progressing through the program. They get so excited when we have our headband ceremony and they earn their new \"belt\"!\r\n\r\nIt is amazing to see all of the students so excited to participate in a program all about math! We have 30 students in our program and more on a waiting list hoping that they get a chance to participate soon! Being able to see the joy that learning new math skills brings to these students is so rewarding.\r\n\r\nOne of the favorite things with all of our Ninjas is working hard to be able to participate in our Number Ninja competitions. This is something that all of the Ninjas strive to accomplish. For the competitions we are able to take our top 5 Ninjas from third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. At the competitions the Ninjas compete against Ninjas from other schools in the Aberdeen area in a wide variety of math topics. It is such a good time!\r\n\r\nThank you again for all of your support. Your generous donation has filled my classroom shelves with new STEM games and floor puzzles.\r\n\r\nThe puzzles have been used on a daily basis during our Free Play time. I love to hear my students recite the alphabet or count to 20 while putting the puzzle pieces together. Kindergarten-age children love to learn about the world around them, and they could not wait to get started exploring and creating! \r\n\r\nYour funding of my Donors Choose project allowed me to purchase the following items: \r\n-\tSeveral floor puzzles\r\n-\tSeveral wooden puzzles\r\n-\tWooden peg board beads game\r\n-\tFrog balance math game\r\n-\tTwo Build-a-Track/Road brain teaser puzzles\r\n\r\nI wrote this grant because sorting games, puzzles, and brainteasers are a great way for children to develop critical thinking skills. These types of games help children develop visual spatial awareness and problem-solving skills, language and communication skills as children work together expressing their ideas about how to solve the puzzle. These games also promote collaboration and teamwork, math and reading skills, and build confidence and reduce stress. I was able to replace old, outdated puzzles, add several critical thinking puzzles, and several vibrant floor puzzles in different themes so that I am able to switch puzzles in and out throughout the year to help prevent boredom.\r\n\r\nAgain, I cannot thank you enough for your donation.
