Your support has made a meaningful difference in the learning experience of my young students.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher in a majority MLL classroom, I'm always seeking ways to make learning phonics hands-on, engaging, and effective. These letter tubs quickly became one of our most-loved classroom tools. From the moment I introduced them, my students were hooked! We used them weekly, and honestly, anytime I could find a way to incorporate them, I did.\r\n\r\nWe used the tubs for:\r\n\r\nBeginning sound sorts\r\n\r\nLetter-sound matching\r\n\r\nSmall group writing practice\r\n\r\nVocabulary building\r\n\r\nStorytelling activities\r\n\r\nAnd even class games and review!\r\n\r\nIt amazed me how something so simple, just letters and objects, could bring so much excitement and spark such curiosity. For many of my students, especially those still building English language skills, being able to touch and interact with real objects made phonics come to life in a way that flat paper activities never could.\r\n\r\nThe tubs supported not only academic growth, but also student confidence. I watched students light up with pride when they made connections between the sounds and the objects, often explaining them to their peers and taking ownership of their learning. They looked forward to phonics time because it was fun, and that joy made all the difference.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and for investing in their future. Your gift will continue to impact children year after year, and I'm so grateful for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1726244859051,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-letter-learning/8480108/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Letter Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Higby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9582283_orig.jpg?crop=320,320,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753313181236","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9582283"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_131624","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":260,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.3,"schoolId":131624,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Global Academy of South Carolina on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Global Academy of South Carolina","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/south-carolina-department-of-education/global-academy-of-south-carolina/131624"}
