When I handed out the snacks during a particularly long study session, I could see their energy and attention levels improve instantly. They received snacks, books, outdoor equipment for play, pillows for the carpet and love. The snacks have come in handy for the children that come to school late and don't get breakfast, I have something in the class for them. Nothing is more distracting than being hungry and trying to learn. \r\n\r\nThe books are geared toward social and emotional learning. The children can really relate with the readings because the characters look like them. The joy of reading has become evident with the children because they are grabbing the books off the shelf to read on their own. This makes my heart smile. \r\n\r\nThe outdoor equipment consisted of balls and jump ropes. This was helpful to now have organized play at recess. It also get the children moving a little more than just swinging on the swings and playing on the jungle gym. \r\n\r\nThe pillows were given for their carpet time. They enjoy getting the pillows out and lying on the floor for the interactive read aloud or for watching things on the smart board as well. \r\n\r\nI just want to give you all a heartfelt thank you for the donations and the love that was poured into my class.
