The color screens allow students to graph equations and immediately see the differences between multiple functions on the same coordinate plane. This visual distinction has been especially helpful during lessons on systems of equations and graph analysis, where students can now clearly identify which line or curve belongs to which equation. During our matrix unit, the updated display and faster processing have also been a game changer, making it easier for students to calculate and understand matrices without the frustration of small or unclear outputs.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is how much easier it is to see the math they are doing. Several have commented that the graphs finally make sense because of the color separation, while others love how clear the screen is, even for basic calculations. Many of them affectionately call the new devices the \"fancy calcs.\" The excitement in the classroom is obvious whenever we use them, as students are more engaged, more confident, and more willing to explore concepts on their own.\r\n\r\nThis project has also provided a major benefit to our school as a whole. With the new calculators in our classroom, we are now able to share our older models for schoolwide use during standardized testing such as the SAT, ACT, PreACT, WIN, and WorkKeys. In the past, our math classes would lose calculators for days at a time while testing was happening in other parts of the building. Now, thanks to this upgrade, students in our daily lessons don't lose access, and testing groups still have the resources they need. This \"double win\" has strengthened both teaching and testing for our students, and we are so grateful for your support in making it possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757704565300,"projectUrl":"project/upgrade-for-us-access-for-everyone/9605994/","projectTitle":"Upgrade for Us, Access for Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Frick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10180789_orig.jpg?crop=3448,3448,x0,y586&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755607609967","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10180789"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28363","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":681,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":59.4,"schoolId":28363,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Middle - Carolina High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Middle - Carolina High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/newberry-county-school-district/mid-carolina-high-school/28363"}
