Many donors may not realize how tools like bouncy bands for chairs can transform a learning environment, but for students with ADHD, they provide a quiet, movement-friendly outlet that helps them stay focused and engaged. Instead of being distracted by the need to fidget, these students can now channel their energy discreetly and remain present during lessons. At the same time, the chart paper and white-board markers have enhanced our whole-group discussions, giving students a clear, visual way to build ideas together and revisit concepts throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is how these materials make learning more interactive and comfortable. The bouncy bands have become a favorite—students love that they can move while still concentrating on their work. The large chart paper has turned our mini-lessons into collaborative experiences, where students can come up, write their ideas, and visually map out their thinking. Even something as simple as fresh markers has energized participation; students are eager to contribute when they know their ideas will be seen clearly by the whole group.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from these additions. One of my learners with ADHD, who previously struggled to remain seated, now stays engaged for entire lessons thanks to the bouncy bands. Another student who is often hesitant to speak in front of the class has begun volunteering more frequently, encouraged by the opportunity to share ideas on chart paper in a way that feels safe and supported. These small but meaningful shifts have created a more inclusive, collaborative, and productive classroom environment—all made possible by your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758901471507,"projectUrl":"project/movement-and-access-to-texts/9755331/","projectTitle":"Movement and Access to Texts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mackay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3531684_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1458140243609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3531684"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6338","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":538,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":48.3,"schoolId":6338,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edwards Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edwards Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/chesterfield-county-school-district/edwards-elementary-school/6338"}
