We have focused on efficiency and prototyping, over \"on-off' designs. The addition of a new printer has been exciting, and intimidating. Having donations from you has helped us overcome those challenges and create a workspace that capitalizes on efficiency and increases productivity and learning. \r\nSomething as simple as filament storage has made all of the difference. We now can have our filament racks mounted to the wall on full display. Students have made tags to label the filaments and programed in presets for temperature and filament tolerances. This makes selecting, loading and managing filament a breeze. \r\nWith this type of storage, humidity is important to monitor, but again you came through! Our filament dryer, stationed with the printers, allows us to select, dry, load, and print, all while standing in the same station! Game changer!\r\nAlso worth mentioning, is that we have already gone through hot-ends and nozzles as we dove into our new printing set-up. Clogged nozzles are no concern, because we can use a spare, provided by you, to swap out and continue printing. In down time, we reload clogged nozzles and clear the jam, allowing us to carry maintenance our schedule, instead of shutting down the whole operation. These seemingly mundane additions are making all of the difference in our classroom. We're going through our growing pains as we learn the new software, what scans well, what does not scan well, developing project ideas, and just exploring new technology. The more we learn, the better their ideas are! Thank you so much for providing this authentic STEM opportunity for United's students! \r\n\r\nWe learned faces are fun to scan, but the hair on our head is hard to pick up in the scanner. LEGO figures scan well... now we can build our own \"accessories\". We are trying cases for tape measures and cell phones, making \"mini\" figures and learning easier ways to work with organic objects. We had to learn to shrink and compress large files to upload them to our design software. What an awesome, real-life problem for this students to troubleshoot and solve!\r\n\r\nI look forward to what we will develop and learn with this powerful tool at our disposal!","fullyFundedDate":1731532915780,"projectUrl":"project/moving-forward-with-reverse-engineering/8704840/","projectTitle":"Moving Forward With Reverse Engineering","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Henning","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp854996_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522295412954","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rhenning"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89921","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":455,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":89921,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about United Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"United Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/united-school-district/united-elementary-school/89921"}
