Each day, we used our magnifying glasses from a previous project to observe and document our findings, which the students recorded on a worksheet.\r\n\r\nIn addition, we also raised worms. Every two weeks, we conducted a fun counting activity, and despite the slimy nature of the worms, the students absolutely enjoyed this hands-on experience.\r\n\r\nDuring my formal teaching observation, I introduced new resin bugs. The students engaged with these specimens using their magnifying glasses to count legs, identify colors, and determine if they had wings. On another occasion, we observed worms, and we even raised caterpillars in our classroom, using the magnifying glasses to examine the insects closely.\r\nAs we began our planting unit, we utilized root system planters and trays for our seeds and small items for our STEM kits. We've also employed microscopes to investigate various objects in the classroom, such as our carpet and clothing, allowing us to see them up close.\r\nWhile we have not yet used the microscopes for specific science projects, we have enjoyed our explorations.
