Basketball is a favorite activity among our students, but our previous equipment was worn out and falling apart. During Family PE last year, a parent even asked, \"Do you guys need new basketballs?\" This highlighted just how much our equipment was in need of an upgrade.\r\n\r\nThanks to our generous donors, students now have the opportunity to develop important grade-level PE skills while supporting our physical education curriculum. Through basketball lessons, students will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship while meeting grade-level learning expectations. We will incorporate the basketballs into skill-building activities, partner challenges, small-group games, and our popular staff-versus-student basketball games!\r\n\r\nThis new equipment will also support an exciting opportunity for our 4th and 5th grade students! In the new year, we plan to have a basketball team that will compete against other elementary schools. Students will have the opportunity to develop their basketball skills, practice teamwork, build confidence, and demonstrate good sportsmanship while representing our school. The new basketballs will be an important part of preparing our athletes for this experience, and we are excited to see them grow both on and off the court!\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful to our donors for providing equipment that will enhance our PE curriculum and give students more opportunities to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a sport they love.
