With your help, our students will now have a dedicated area in our classroom to learn new strategies, cuddle with soft lovies, use pictures to attempt to explain how they feel, and learn how to take some deep breaths and reset. \r\n\r\nOur breathing buddies really highlight for the students what it means to take a deep breath, and it shows them with colors, and with how squishy it is how to do it well. The visuals are helpful to illustrate the great number of big feelings that they have, and how to cope when things aren't going their way. \r\n\r\nThe bean bag chairs offer a great place to land when you are upset, and with the sensory boards, we are hopeful that we can learn to calm more quickly to keep us right on track. The students were so very excited to get the opportunity to play with these new items. \r\n\r\nThe students got to practice climbing up the new stairs, use the rock wall to climb up through the window, and slide down to the bottom over and over! They enjoyed putting balls underneath to create their own ball pit as well. \r\n\r\nThe cottage has also been well loved! The students love to ring the doorbell, go through the door and say \"hi\" from the open windows! We have added some flowers and the students get to arrange and rearrange the flowers in any order they choose. \r\n\r\nThese new items have helped the students to interact with each other and staff members in new fun ways, and our team is thrilled we have gotten this opportunity to teach different play schemes as wells as develop motor skills for safety on playgrounds.\r\n\r\nThank you all so much!","fullyFundedDate":1746968349505,"projectUrl":"project/gross-motor-glow-up/9189522/","projectTitle":"Gross Motor Glow Up!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9869674_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734046106365","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msjenbccc"},{"teacherId":9869674,"projectId":9004273,"letterContent":"I am so very thankful for your donations! Since getting our new thermal book binder, the paint markers, and the new Crayola markers, we have made 5 books! It is so exciting to see the students using the vibrant paint markers with ease to learn how to make marks on paper, to paint, and to make a choice about what colors they are able to use. The students are loving how easy it is to use markers, and love the extra choices that they get to make with the new colors in the box. \r\n\r\nI have been able to send home 3 books with specific students who absolutely loved book making so much that they kept requesting to read and sing their books over and over! It is great for the parents to be able to see that their children are reading books, singing songs, and able to put their art on display to showcase what they have learned. What a great keepsake for them to be able to take with them always. \r\n\r\nThis has been a great first project for our classroom, and I am so very blessed that you \r\ndecided to brighten our classroom with your donations.
