We were also gifted a new classroom bookshelf and storage bins to organize and display our books. In addition, we received SEL tools like the Little SPOT of Emotion series to support emotional learning and growth and so much more!\r\n\r\nThese resources have had an immediate and meaningful impact on our daily read-aloud routine, emotional development, representation, and love for reading.\r\nWe read Magic Tree House every day during snack time. The students love following Jack and Annie's adventures, and we're already on Book 5! They are always asking for more and are disappointed if we have to save a chapter for the next day. This routine has created so much excitement around reading that students now look forward to both snack and story time. Students are also seeing themselves reflected in the books and are learning about cultures, communities, and experiences different from their own. It has opened up opportunities for us to discuss differences in a positive and accepting way. It has caused our diverse students to stand a little taller in our room, knowing that they belong, matter, and are seen. Our new library setup has made books more accessible and inviting. Students are choosing to read more often and are even revisiting favorite titles again and again.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped lay the foundation for a more inclusive, student-centered library that will benefit this class (and future classes) for years to come. Your support has made reading feel special, important, and joyful.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and supporting our students. You didn't just give us books. You gave us a love of reading, mirrors to see ourselves, and windows into the world.","fullyFundedDate":1755084881668,"projectUrl":"project/culturally-inclusive-classroom-library/9437147/","projectTitle":"Culturally Inclusive Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Campbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10065721_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y289&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751817571873","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10065721"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89612","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":415,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":90.9,"schoolId":89612,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pennell Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pennell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/penn-delco-school-district/pennell-elementary-school/89612"}
