My students love to dance and sing to different versions of the alphabet song, and now they are noticing letters and letter sounds everywhere. The hands-on materials from this project give them fun, meaningful ways to learn while playing. The Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit and Magnetic Letter Builders quickly became favorite choices, especially since magnets are a newly discovered interest in our classroom. Students are excited to build letters as they practice recognizing names and sounds.\r\n\r\nThe Construct-A-Letter Activity Center has been especially engaging for children who love using tools, giving them a playful way to build letters while strengthening fine motor skills. The Trace Write Alphabet Center and Alphabet Dough Mats support both letter recognition and hand strength at the same time. Tools like the sand timers help students practice patience and turn-taking, while playful items like the Alphabet Learning Locks and Alpha-Bots add excitement and problem-solving to literacy centers. Literacy is an important life skill, and young children learn best through singing, talking, playing, and exploring. These materials have helped create a joyful, hands-on environment where my students feel confident, curious, and excited as they begin their reading journey.","fullyFundedDate":1674488654275,"projectUrl":"project/a-b-c-d-help-us-learn-to-read/7106857/","projectTitle":"A, B, C, D, Help Us Learn to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bove","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4987414_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742754631061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/c-bove"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_112456","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":86.9,"schoolId":112456,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Council of Three Rivers AIC - Hazelwood Site on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Council of Three Rivers AIC - Hazelwood Site","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/office-of-head-start/hazelwood-site/112456"}
