The letter beads, Wikki Stix alphabet cards, tactile liquid letters, letter design builder kit, and play dough are already helping my students to learn and practice letters and letter sounds as they prepare for kindergarten. \r\n\r\nWhen my students saw the new play dough, their faces lit up. We immediately got to work with it, practicing hand strength that will help them to hold their writing utensils. They love to use the play dough to make meatballs, cookies, robots, and snakes, among other things. When using the letter beads, my students' favorite thing is to make name necklaces for their friends. A favorite game with the letter cards is to choose a mystery card from the pile and then name and make the letter.\r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your support of our classroom learning. The tabletop light panel and the magnetic science tiles are a new favorite of my students. Each day there is a wait list to use the Light Center. \r\n\r\nThe light panel offers a variety of learning opportunities. Sometimes we focus on science; the magnetic science tiles allow the students to explore color mixing, magnifying, mirroring, and prisms. Other times we use the light panel to practice letter and numeral identification and formation. Incorporating the light panel in to these types of activities helps to engage students that do not typically enjoy learning about letters and numerals. \r\n\r\nMy students and I truly appreciate your generosity. My students were so excited to receive these materials. As soon as we unpacked the box they wanted to start painting right away! Within a few weeks everyone tried out the variety of paints that we received, including water color paints, tempera paints, finger paints, and paint sticks. Each type of paint helped them to practice responsibility and pre-writing skills while engaging in a variety of sensory experiences.\r\n\r\nAs much as the students loved the paint, the Crayola Model Magic was a game changer in the classroom. Each student chose something to create out of the modeling dough, such as a house, an animal, or a robot.
