My students and I are so appreciative that we now have resources to help them learn about accountability and taking charge of their learning. They come from households/cultures where their education is not always prioritized so I am working to show them that you can always take control of your own education. We are working hard everyday to improve their Reading, Writing, and Math skills and their Accountability projects are helping them to push themselves and each other to do better.\r\n\r\nMy students were very excited to receive these materials and they have already gotten a lot of use. These materials have helped improve the structure and function of our classroom and I have already seen an improvement in academics and engagement. My students have started working in pairs with an Accountability partner to create goals that they will work towards throughout the school year. They also created expectations for working in the classroom to ensure maximum efficiency. The materials have helped them increase efficiency, such as the clipboards for working on the floor with their groups and the timers for improved reading and math fluency. The incentive chart is helping them stay on track with the expectations that were set. My goal is to keep pushing my students to improve in different ways and so far, we are off to a great start!
