Here is a sample of what one eighth grader wrote:\r\n\r\n\"Thank you so much for donating the books. I am so very thankful for this so we has the opportunity to read these books. The key thing we got from the reading is learning about the struggles and events that happened during the Holocaust time period. I was able to connect with the teens in the book with how they had to go through struggles they shouldn't have gone through. I could relate to Moshe in The Boy From Block 66 because I was able to put myself in his shoes and relate how he dealt with the problems and what he went through to such things in my life. Teens can mature through challenges during that time by having to do things that adults shouldn't have to do. Now teens mature through challenges because they have to deal with stress and online explosions. The learning contributed to my end of the year as an 8th grader by introducing me to a project that needs lots of attention in order to do well. To sum up, I thank you very much because without it, I wouldn't have been able to do all this.\"~Raea B.","fullyFundedDate":1727994291222,"projectUrl":"project/teens-shaping-history-literature-circle/8713272/","projectTitle":"Teens Shaping History: Literature Circles Return","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hafera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9488375_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y9&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710283491146","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9488375"},{"teacherId":9921314,"projectId":9108785,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation, which made it possible for our students to pursue research projects that were both meaningful and personally engaging.\r\n\r\nOur seventh grade English classes recently spent a week in the library researching inventions created before 1970. Initially, our limited library resources meant students had to wait patiently for their turn to use a book. In some cases, students couldn't find any information on their chosen topic and had to select a new one—until the books funded through DonorsChoose arrived. With these new resources, students were finally able to explore their original interests, and we're excited to expand the list of researchable topics even further next year.\r\n\r\nIn social studies, students delved into the topic of human migration, with each student assigned a specific ethnic group. Using the new books, they investigated the origins, destinations, and causes behind each group's migration. These resources brought depth and context that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.\r\n\r\nYour support directly impacted four classes—around 100 students—opening up knowledge and perspectives that were previously out of reach. While that may seem like a small number, these books are now part of our permanent library collection and are already being incorporated into future lesson plans.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us provide the resources that empower our students to explore, question, and learn.
