The materials we received have made a remarkable difference our learning environment.\r\nFrom the very first day the new seating options were introduced, students were eager to explore the different choices. The standing desk quickly became a favorite for students who learn best when they can move and stretch. The floor cushions and lowered desk created a cozy, collaborative space where small groups could work comfortably and share ideas more freely. Due to the popularity of those two seating options, I raised two traditional desks to a standing desk height and lowered 5 other traditional desks so more students could also sit on the floor to learn. Our wobble stools and starfish ball chairs provided an outlet for natural movement, helping students who often struggled to stay focused at a traditional desk.\r\nThank you for helping us make this vision a reality. Your contribution has not only provided furniture, but it allowed my students to take ownership of their learning and discover the kind of environment where they can truly thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1755913525067,"projectUrl":"project/wiggle-while-we-work-flexible-seating-f/9283875/","projectTitle":"Wiggle While We Work: Flexible Seating for Focused Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9435585_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753553439840","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9435585"},{"teacherId":9435585,"projectId":9253091,"letterContent":"The Every Reader Matters grant will have a lasting impact on the literacy growth and confidence of many third-grade students. By providing a diverse collection of guided reading books at various levels, each child will have access to texts that meet their individual needs and interests. This ensures that all students—whether they are a beginning reader or an advanced reader—are appropriately challenged and supported.\r\n\r\nWith these new resources, I am able to provide small-group instruction that targets specific reading skills, fosters critical thinking, and builds a lifelong love of reading. Students will experience more frequent opportunities for meaningful reading practice, leading to measurable growth in fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension with these books.\r\n\r\nBeyond academic achievement, this project promotes equity by ensuring every reader has access to high-quality materials that reflect different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. Ultimately, Every Reader Matters will help close literacy gaps, prepare students for future success, and strengthen our school's commitment to empowering all learners through reading.","fullyFundedDate":1746787226231,"projectUrl":"project/every-reader-matters-guided-reading-boo/9253091/","projectTitle":"Every Reader Matters: Guided Reading Books for 3rd Grade Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9435585_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753553439840","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9435585"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90486","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":621,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.6,"schoolId":90486,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Penn Wynne Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Penn Wynne Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/lower-merion-school-district/penn-wynne-elementary-school/90486"}
