They organized our seed starting trays, looked through our seed selections, and calculated what we need to plant now to be ready in the spring. They just started our first trays of tomato and pepper seeds and are anxiously awaiting some growth. Every time our principal or other adult walks into the STEM Lab, the students tell them about the seeds they started in the greenhouse. In the meantime, students planted some flowers in the new soil that was delivered, and they have already germinated and are growing taller and stronger each day.\r\n\r\nThe hydroponic garden was planted a few weeks ago with seedlings that the students started in rockwool. Our adaptive STEM class helped to prepare the plants for transplanting in the hydroponic garden. All this learning and growth is all because of the wonderful support from donors and our community.","fullyFundedDate":1763602267657,"projectUrl":"project/growing-our-future/9888158/","projectTitle":"Growing our Future","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. LEYDEN","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5478500_orig.jpg?crop=379,379,x422,y166&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651596510099","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/leydenstem"},{"teacherId":5525876,"projectId":9373155,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of Velcro dots and Bluetooth keyboards to our classroom! With your contribution we were able to prepare our greenhouse planting trays and put the seeds in the soil. We used the plant labels to carefully mark each tray with the seeds we planted. After weeks of growing and seeding students can finally see the rewards of their hard work. Using the nice fisker garden shovels, students were able to transplant some cilantro from the greenhouse to our raised bed gardens. Oops, we left a few shovels outside for a couple of days and because they are all plastic nothing happened to them.
