The resources you funded have already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and interact with their goals each day. I am so incredibly grateful!!! \r\n\r\nThe moment my students walked in and saw the spinning prize wheel, the mini electronic claw machine, and all the brightly colored games and sensory fidgets, their eyes lit up. Several students immediately asked, \"Are we playing THAT today?\" and one even shouted, \"This is the best day ever!\" Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it set the tone for the rest of our afternoon and future sessions together.\r\n\r\nWe've already put many of the materials to use. For example, during a small-group session working on turn-taking and expanding expressive language, we used Shark Bite and Noodle Knockout. Students practiced forming complete sentences before taking a turn, and they encouraged each other in ways I hadn't seen before. The games naturally drew them into conversation, cooperation, and problem-solving—all skills we target in speech. The Burping Bobby and Diggin' Doggie games have been especially great for articulation students who need repeated practice; they stay motivated longer because the activities feel like play rather than drill work.\r\n\r\nThe fidget toys have also become an important tool. Several students who struggle with focus or anxiety now use them during structured tasks, and I've already seen improvement in their regulation and attention. And the new laminator and laminating sheets have allowed me to create durable, individualized practice materials that will support students throughout the entire year.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to be integrated into upcoming lessons. My next project with students is a \"Winter Speech Challenge,\" where they will earn chances to spin the prize wheel or try the claw machine by completing speech tasks, demonstrating social skills, or meeting personal goals. This will make progress feel empowering and fun while encouraging consistent effort.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has given my students not just supplies, but confidence, joy, and opportunities to succeed in ways that truly matter. Thank you for believing in them and for believing in the work we do each day.","fullyFundedDate":1758840238491,"projectUrl":"project/leave-this-new-speech-therapist-speechle/9458416/","projectTitle":"Leave This New Speech Therapist Speechless!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Holt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10076783"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89128","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":152,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":89128,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Broad Street Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Broad Street Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/butler-area-school-district/broad-street-elementary-school/89128"}
