The large monitor has allowed students to clearly watch videos about Lunar New Year traditions, celebrations, and stories, making the content accessible and engaging for all learners. Students used the doodle pads to take notes, draw key ideas, and record new vocabulary, which supported listening comprehension, expressive language, and memory skills in a fun, low-pressure way.\r\n\r\nThe globe string lights added a calming and festive atmosphere to our classroom, representing traditional Lunar New Year lanterns. This visual connection helped students make meaningful associations with the holiday while creating a welcoming environment that encouraged participation and conversation. Together, these materials supported vocabulary development, discussion, cultural understanding, and confidence for students in speech therapy as well as their general education peers.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping bring language learning to life through culture, visuals, and thoughtful classroom design. This model also promotes greater collaboration between the speech-language pathologist and classroom teachers, as it allows for more natural opportunities to integrate communication goals into academic settings. Exploring space can be challenging for young learners, but with these incredible supplies, our students (I shared with the other 1st grade classroom) have been able to experience the wonders of space in a way that is engaging, interactive and fun.\r\n\r\nThe projector allowed us to bring planets, stars, and the moon to life right in our classroom. Instead of just reading about space, students saw the planets up close, watch the phases of the moon, and even observe how Earth obits the sun. This visual and hands on experience has deepened their understanding of space concepts and sparked their curiosity about the universe.\r\n\r\nThe large, hands-on puzzle encouraged collaboration, problem-solving, and communication among students as they worked together to complete the image. It provided a multi-sensory learning experience that appealed to visual and kinesthetic learners, helping them better retain information about planets, stars, and the solar system.\r\nThe activity also sparked curiosity and excitement about space, motivating students to ask questions and explore related topics beyond the classroom discussion. \r\n\r\nFinally, by using the \"Astronaut Ice Cream\", students were highly motivated to participate, asked thoughtful questions about how food is preserved and consumed in zero gravity, and made meaningful connections between the science of space travel and their everyday lives. The activity also provided opportunities to integrate STEM concepts such as freeze-drying, nutrition, and engineering challenges in space.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for helping to make our learning environment engaging and inspiring.","fullyFundedDate":1740696913575,"projectUrl":"project/space-exploration-for-1st-grade/8906880/","projectTitle":"Space Exploration for 1st Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hrabovsky","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6890402"},{"teacherId":6315103,"projectId":8973862,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation.
