They have become an essential visual and organizational tool during small group and whole-group ELA lessons. Because the charts are interactive and easily accessible to students, they help make foundational literacy concepts—like letter-sound correspondence, blending, segmenting, and sight word recognition—both hands-on and engaging.\r\n\r\nDuring phonemic awareness and phonics instruction, I use the pocket charts to model sound manipulation with picture cards and letter tiles. Students can physically move cards to isolate, blend, or substitute sounds, which supports multi-sensory learning and reinforces skills taught in our Heggerty and Benchmark lessons. The charts also help students visually see word patterns when sorting CVC words, rhyming pairs, and high-frequency words. Your donation has made a huge impact on my classroom instruction.","fullyFundedDate":1746785781550,"projectUrl":"project/pocket-charts-big-learning-for-little/9318033/","projectTitle":"Pocket Charts = Big Learning for Little Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Folk","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8987959_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1679246787998","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8987959"},{"teacherId":9975549,"projectId":9206914,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation. These resources have become essential tools in our daily sessions, and I'm excited to share just how much they've helped my students.\r\n\r\nWhen the wobble stools arrived, my students' faces lit up with curiosity and excitement. One student immediately asked, \"Can I try that one today?\"—and as soon as they sat down, you could see the difference. The stools allow my students to move and wiggle in a controlled way, which helps them stay focused and more engaged during therapy. A moment that really stood out was during a group session where we practiced turn-taking and conversation skills. Instead of fidgeting or needing breaks, the students stayed seated, took turns more easily, and were able to complete a full activity together—something that used to be a challenge!\r\n\r\nWe've also been using the visual timer to help structure our sessions and reduce transitions that can sometimes feel overwhelming for students. One of my students, who often has difficulty with attention and time awareness, now watches the timer closely and even says, \"I can finish this before it runs out!\" It's been amazing to see how something so simple can give students a sense of control and accomplishment.\r\n\r\nThese tools have truly changed the way my students experience speech therapy. Because of your kindness, we now have essential supplies—glue sticks, binders, dot stickers, construction paper, a social skills game, and more—that have made a huge impact on our therapy sessions.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when the materials arrived. Many of them immediately wanted to start creating with the construction paper—it was such a joyful and engaging way to begin our sessions that day. We've used the binders to build interactive language books for our little learners. The dot stickers have been especially helpful for turn-taking games, articulation tracking, and interactive visual schedules—simple tools that bring structure and motivation to every session.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest highlights so far has been using the social skills game. It's helped spark meaningful conversations about emotions, body language, and friendship. Students are practicing how to interact in different situations, conversational turn-taking, and problem-solving skills—all while having fun and feeling successful. Watching them apply these skills outside of our therapy room has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nYour support is helping us build not only communication skills but also confidence and independence.
