When we started receiving the items, the students' curiosity increased. Finally, I decided to let the students know the good news. \r\n\r\nThe first things we opened were the boxes of snacks. These came at the perfect time. We had run out of snacks, so the students were beyond excited to see them. I try to provide my students with a snack each day so they are better able to focus. If there is a day when we don't have snacks, the majority of students struggle with focusing on learning. There seem to be more behavioral incidents when they are unable to have snacks. These snacks were an amazing gift to receive.\r\n\r\nThe headphones with the bags gave the students so much excitement. I was able to provide every single student with a pair of headphones for them to use. This will be extremely helpful when we are doing state testing, as well as other online activities. \r\n\r\nThe largest portion of the donation was the air conditioner. This helps cool the classroom down tremendously. This creates a more comfortable environment for everybody in the classroom. We were so excited to receive this, and it has made a HUGE difference. \r\n\r\nThis donation was such a blessing, and our gratitude is immense.","fullyFundedDate":1759892488179,"projectUrl":"project/making-fourthfifth-grade-thrive/9659807/","projectTitle":"Making Fourth/Fifth Grade Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10229376_orig.jpg?crop=1840,1840,x0,y128&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756487278778","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10229376"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88060","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":260,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":87,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":88060,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hawthorne Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hawthorne Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/sweet-home-school-district-55/hawthorne-elementary-school/88060"}
