They are helping students build essential reading skills like making inferences, identifying themes, expanding vocabulary, and thinking critically about characters and events. Many of the texts also introduce students to new perspectives and experiences, encouraging empathy and thoughtful discussion. Students are learning how to ask deeper questions, support their ideas with evidence from the text, and connect what they read to their own lives and the world around them.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and collaborative. Students read independently, in small groups, and as a class. You might see them annotating pages with sticky notes, turning and talking to a partner about a powerful moment, or eagerly raising their hands to share a connection they made. These books have sparked conversations that continue long after reading time ends, which is one of the clearest signs of true engagement.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make reading something students look forward to each day. Your support has made a lasting impact on their skills, confidence, and love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1761250316752,"projectUrl":"project/meaningful-and-diverse-classroom-librari/9682306/","projectTitle":"Meaningful and Diverse Classroom Libraries","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2820933"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108657","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":86,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":60.6,"schoolId":108657,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Multnomah Learning Academy Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Multnomah Learning Academy Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/reynolds-school-district-7/multisensory-learning-academy-middle-school/108657"}
