The following kits were created: two large models of the ear with the ability to take apart the different components and study them closely, four connect-4 games to use with various self-advocacy games, two magnetic BINGO disc sets with magnetic wands, and four magnetic audiograms with magnetic manipulatives to map their own hearing loss. \r\n\r\nMy students reacted enthusiastically each time I brought a new kit for them to explore. Here are a couple of student's comments: After using the magnetic audiogram – \"That was so much more fun than writing it out on paper.\" After using the magnetic BINGO sets to play a self- advocacy game – \"I wish I could play this game all day!\" And a student who was reluctant to participate in answer questions about their hearing loss and accommodations, was eagerly on task while using the connect-4 game. \r\n\r\nI will be retiring at the end of this school year after 40 years of teacher deaf/hard of hearing students. They are learning about the experiences and perspectives of others while enjoying the humanity and humor portrayed in this book.\r\n\r\nAnytime students can learn and watch their understanding and knowledge grow while enjoying themselves is a win! I am so grateful that you helped provide this opportunity for them.
